Matthew Jorgenson, MA

Matthew Jorgenson joined New South in 2026 as a Principal Investigator. Matt holds an M.A. in Anthropology from East Carolina University. Matt has over 30 years of experience in cultural resources management, primarily in the Southeast U.S. Matt has previously served on the North Carolina Archaeology Society’s board and the North Carolina National Register Advisory Committee (an advisory board to the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Officer for NRHP applications) and currently serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the North Carolina Archaeological Council.
