Biography

Mark Pifer joined New South in 2024 as a Geophysical. Mark’s MA thesis used portable x-ray fluorescence to analyze Mississippian pottery from the Catawba River Valley in North Carolina. Prior to a career in archaeology, Mark spent many years in the media industry with Time Warner/Turner Broadcasting, National Geographic and PBS.
