Courtney Shade

Shade currently serves as Assistant Laboratory Manager for Augusta VCP. After earning her undergrad in film, she joined the United States Army in 2015 as an all-source intelligence analyst and later reclassed to be a counterintelligence agent. Shade joined the VCP as a laboratory technician in 2023 and, with the help of the program, was accepted into graduate school at the University of Alabama to obtain her Master’s in Library and Information Studies (expected graduation date of January 2027). Shade is delighted to have the opportunity to assist other veterans and work alongside archives. She will complete her degree by the end of 2026 and when not at work or school, she can be found archiving her video game collection and playing with her cats.
