Penne Sandbeck serves New South Associates as a Senior Historian in their Fairfax, Virginia Office. Penne attended Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, then received her B.A. in Studio Art from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds an M.A. in Art History from the University of Delaware, where her graduate studies focused on architectural history. Penne’s work experience includes archival and deed research, survey fieldwork and analysis, interpretive writing for museums, two architectural history publications for Greene (NC) and Currituck (NC) counties, and Cultural Resources management for a Navy shipyard. She has completed regional cultural resource surveys, Section 106 reports, and National Register nominations in North Carolina and Virginia.
