Ashley Cavanaugh has 15 years of experience in the field of archaeology and CRM. She has worked with New South on a project basis since 2013 and joined New South permanently in 2020 as an Assistant Archaeologist. She received a B.A. in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology from Eastern Kentucky University in 2007. She has experience in all phases of archaeological investigations including survey, testing, and data recovery. She has worked directly along with the Sioux in North Dakota and Mashpee Wampanoag Tribes for expansive monitoring projects throughout New England. She has worked in 28 different states; however, southeastern and New England archaeology are her passions. She has conducted various fieldwork and research for a number of government and private clients. Throughout her archaeological career she has worked in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Washington.
