Sean Stucker joined New South Associates in 2021 and serves the company as Historian and Architectural Historian. He is responsible for conducting historical research and architectural field surveys and for drafting technical reports. Sean has over a decade of cultural resource management experience working in preservation nonprofits in SC and NC, as well as with the US Army at Fort Bragg. He has also worked in construction and hands-on preservation for nearly 25 years, as a DIY renovator, as a carpenter, and as a Project Executive in historic plaster and masonry restoration, among other roles. Sean received his B.A. in English from the University of Colorado and also holds a Master in Historic Preservation from the University of Georgia. Sean likes old buildings and especially likes exploring the attics and the crawlspaces, where the interesting stuff is usually found, and his technical knowledge of historic building materials is an asset for conservation projects and for historic structure investigations.
