Miguel Martinez Jr.

Miguel served in the United States Air Force Reserve for 11 years as a Crew Chief for the C-5 Galaxy at Lackland AFB, separating from duty in 2018. Miguel also works with the American Veteran Archaeology Recovery Program as a field tech at an excavation site in Sicily, excavating the remains of WWII pilots. Miguel’s most recent fieldwork experience was working on a metal detection survey assignment on a unique WWI aerial gunnery target in Fort Worth, Texas. Miguel is currently enrolled at College of San Mateo working towards his BA degree in Anthropology. He plans to transfer to UC San Diego this fall. His main goal is to learn the intricacies of human societies, past and present, to be able to tackle socio-cultural issues we face today.
