Biography

Megan Schwalenberg currently serves as an Assistant Laboratory Manager in the St. Louis VCP. Megan’s background is in both archaeology and biological anthropology. She worked at USACE, St. Louis District where she assisted Corps districts and other federal agencies with NAGPRA compliance, collections management, and archaeological field work. At North Carolina State, she was the Osteology Laboratory Supervisor and volunteered in the Forensic Analysis Laboratory. Megan also worked at Arizona State University’s Bioarchaeology and Human Osteology field school at the Center for American Archeology as the Laboratory Director for three summers. She has conducted fieldwork in Wisconsin, Illinois, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Hawaii at prehistoric and historic sites, and presented at local and national conferences. Megan’s professional interests include North American archaeology, bioarchaeology, mortuary archaeology, and forensic anthropology.
