Matt Colvin, PhD

Matt joined NSA in 2021 and serves as an Archaeologist. A Registered Professional Archaeologist, Matt has worked primarily in the American southeast and is skilled in traditional excavation techniques, coring, radiocarbon procurement and pretreatment strategies, and Bayesian modeling of radiocarbon dates. His research interests include Indigenous archaeology, settlement archaeology, Hunter-Gatherer lifeways, chronology building, cooperation and collective action, and trade networks.
