Biography

Chris Rowe currently serves at the VCP as an Administrator, the University Satellite Lab Project Manager, and as the Assistant Project Manager for the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory satellite lab. Chris started his time with the program as an Assistant Lab Manager at the Augusta facility, before serving as the Archives Manager. Chris has previous curation experience through the National Park Service and the University of Wyoming Archaeological Repository. Prior to joining the VCP, Chris served as an Archaeology Technician for the United States Forest Service on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland and the Nebraska National Forest and Grassland. His thesis research relied on outreach events designed to digitally record privately-held artifact collections while highlighting the importance of archaeological context and promoting general cultural resource awareness within the collector communities of northeastern Wyoming. Chris continues to enjoy conducting archaeological outreach, especially flintknapping demonstrations.
