Josh Wackett (B.A. Anthropology, B.A. Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Greensboro; M.A. Anthropology, Georgia State University) serves as an Assistant Lab Manager in the Augusta VCP. A Registered Professional Archaeologist, Josh has conducted archaeological fieldwork in Peru with GSU on multiple field seasons, and his thesis was on the analysis of Contact period Peruvian ceramics. He has also worked as a field archaeologist at Mount Vernon, with the University of North Florida, with UNC-Greensboro, with the Gila River Indian Community, and with New South Associates prior to joining the VCP. Josh worked in the Archaeology Labs at both UNC-Greensboro and GSU. He also has experience with museums and heritage interpretation through an internship at the Bellamy Mansion Museum of History and Design Arts and at Stone Mountain Park’s Heritage Square.
