James Stewart is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) in our Columbia, South Carolina branch office. His 10 years of professional experience include both prehistoric and historic Southeastern archaeology, working on all phases of archaeological study. His areas of expertise include colonial South Carolina, Southeastern archaeology, Woodland archaeology, and Naval Stores archaeology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), total station data collection and GPS mapping. He has participated in archaeological projects in Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. He has worked with a variety of clients in the past including the US Forest Service, UC Synergetic, South Carolina Department of Transportation, North Carolina Department of Transportation, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), various utilities companies and developers. James has an M.A. and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of South Carolina.
