Valerie Hall (M.A. Anthropology and Archaeology, Illinois State University; S.S. Education, Pennsylvania State University) currently serves as a Laboratory Manager in the Alexandria VCP and is responsible for artifacts rehabilitation. She has worked on archaeological field and laboratory studies in Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, and Illinois. Valerie’s research has emphasized Native American women’s role in pottery production in the Chesapeake region to identify indigenous women’s influence on the transformation of English immigrant culture in Early British America. Her interests include public outreach and education, the archaeology of gender, and creolization/transculturation in the Chesapeake region.
