Scott Morris has been with New South Associates since 2006 and serves the company as an Assistant Historian. In his capacity as an Assistant Historian, Mr. Morris assists in the survey, documentation, and assessment of historic resources. Mr. Morris received his B.A. in Anthropology from Arizona State University. He also received a M.H.P. from Georgia State University. Prior to becoming Assistant Historian, Mr. Morris worked in the Laboratory as Field Assistant and Analyst. Mr. Morris has extensive experience in Southeastern historic and prehistoric data recoveries, large Phase I survey and testing projects, and mortuary archaeology, and specializes in historic archaeology and artifact analysis and curation. Mr. Morris has worked for a variety of clients including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Georgia Department of Transportation, as well as a number of other public and private clients. He has conducted fieldwork in Arizona, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
