Kaitlin R. Ahern is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) who joined New South Associates as an Archaeologist in 2021. She has a B.S. in Public Archaeology and Cultural Anthropology from Bridgewater State University, an M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology (Archaeology) from the University at Buffalo. Kaitlin has over 8 years of experience with archaeological survey, testing, data recovery, artifact analysis, and public outreach. She has worked on precontact, historic, and multi-component sites in both the field and laboratory settings. She has experience in technical applications such as geographical information system (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), and various databases. Additionally, she has worked with optical and petrographic microscopy, scanning electron microscope/ energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), and portal X-ray fluorescence (pXRF).
