David Amrine began with New South Associates in 2014 and serves as a Laboratory Analyst. He has an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology from West Virginia University. He began his North American archaeological experience doing artifact analysis and curation with the National Park Service–Midwest Archaeological Center and has twelve years of experience in archaeological fieldwork with various companies and New South Associates. His experience includes Phase I–Phase III work in Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Nevada, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wyoming. He has also obtained volunteer archaeological experience in Mongolia, doing surface survey and excavation on two separate occasions. His specialties include historic nail analysis, general archaeological analysis and curation, and archaeological field survey. He has also transported archaeological collections for New South Associates on multiple occasions. His academic interests include geology, archaeology, paleontology, and entomology.
