Ian Fricker (S.S. in Psychology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) currently serves as a Laboratory Manager in the St. Louis VCP. Ian is currently finishing his M.S. in Prehistoric Archaeology at Illinois State University. His thesis research focuses on Late Prehistoric pottery construction and use at the Noble-Wieting Site (11ML24) in McLean County, Illinois. Ian has worked in archaeology for nearly twenty years, starting in 1996 as a part-time laboratory technician at the Illinois State Archaeological Survey ‘s (ISAS), formerly ITARP, Urbana-Champaign lab. He continued working full-time for ISAS after graduation, gaining valuable experience in archaeological fieldwork, collections management, personnel management, and report writing. He has participated in numerous survey and excavation projects throughout Illinois. In 2006, Ian was given primary responsibility for field operations and related lab work at the Champaign off ice, a position that he held until starting his graduate studies in 2012.
