Stefanie Smith has been with New South Associates since 2015 and serves the company as a Zooarchaeologist on a project basis analyzing faunal remains. In this capacity, Ms. Smith is responsible for archaeological surveys and site testing. Ms. Smith received her B.F.A. in Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design and her M.A. in Applied Archaeology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Smith has field and laboratory experience in historic preservation and historic and prehistoric archaeology, with specialized experience in the identification and interpretation of faunal remains from both historic and prehistoric contexts. Ms. Smith has conducted fieldwork and research for a number of government and private clients including the National Park Service and various telecommunications service providers. Ms. Smith has worked in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Texas, and Kansas.
