Stefanie Perez has been with New South since 2015 and serves as the Director of Production and Zooarchaeologist. As Director of Production, Ms. Perez manages reporting schedules and works with professionals across all departments to ensure that technical reports and other deliverables meet the standards and guidelines of New South and our clients. As Zooarchaeologist, Ms. Perez is responsible for the identification and interpretation of faunal material that is collected during archaeological investigations. She also manages the New South Associates faunal comparative collection. Ms. Perez received her B.F.A. in Historic Preservation from the Savannah Collect of Art and Design, her M.A. in Applied Archaeology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a certificate in Middle Grades Education from Mercer University. Ms. Perez has field and laboratory experience in historic preservation and both historic and prehistoric archaeology, with extensive specialized experience in the zooarchaeology of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Throughout her career, Ms. Perez has been involved in a variety of education and outreach events and has managed projects and conducted fieldwork and research for a number of government and private clients. She has worked on projects in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Texas, Kansas, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
